CHIME/AEHIS PARTNER WITH HEALTH-ISAC TO PROVIDE TIMELY HEALTHCARE SECURITY ALERTS AND TACTICS FOR OUR MEMBERSHIP

ANN ARBOR, MI, November 2, 2022 – For many years, The Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security (AEHIS) and The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) have played an important role in educating, sharing information with and connecting Health IT executives across all areas of their business including cybersecurity, and healthcare security best practices.

AEHIS and CHIME have teamed up with the Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center (Health-ISAC) to further this effort of providing AEHIS Membership and CHIME Membership with the information they need to protect their organizations from cybersecurity threats.

Information Sharing Challenges

Although challenging, AEHIS, CHIME, and other healthcare IT and security organizations have worked together to gather and share cybersecurity intelligence with one another in a fast and efficient way. Rapid distribution protects healthcare organizations around the globe from current security risks, attacks, and threats. Providing information in a timely manner is vital when a security risk arises; however, it can be challenging to gather all the information from multiple sources, draft the reports and alerts, and get communications out to our different Membership audiences quickly. It’s also beyond the scope of the CHIME/AEHIS mission to pull together actionable tactics, technical instructions, and best practices for security departments to follow to protect their networks.

 

Solution: Enter the Health Security Information Sharing Experts

 

Health-ISAC has agreed to partner with CHIME/AEHIS in providing its Members with the vital information they need to manage and secure their networks. CHIME will distribute this information collected by Health-ISAC, which could include:

  • – TLP: White/clear and TLP: Green Materials to include Health-ISAC Newsletter, vulnerability and threat bulletins, and other actionable and relevant information including intelligence on threats, incidents, and vulnerabilities that can include data such as indicators of compromise, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) of threat actors, advice and best practices, mitigation strategies and other valuable material.
  • – The Health-ISAC annual report, focused security research prepared by or in collaboration with the Health-ISAC, white papers, and other non-technical material of interest to healthcare CIOs.
