Experts Warn of Faster and Higher Volume Attacks, Rising Patient Safety Worries

Healthcare defenders already feel like they’re steps behind, said Errol Weiss, chief security officer of the Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center.
“CISOs are concerned that Mythos class tools shrink the timeline from months or days down to hours and minutes. That means more ransomware, less warning before attacks and a greater chance of simultaneous, multi hospital disruptions,” he said.
“The real concern for healthcare isn’t just more intrusions, but more rapid, coordinated outages that immediately impact patient care across a large geographic area,” Weiss said. “The speed of AI assisted offense will outpace human scale defense unless we change how we operate.”
