The Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center also weighed in on the Iran strikes and potential cyber impacts.
Health-ISAC CSO Errol Weiss told Inside Cybersecurity, “Health-ISAC is very focused on the current U.S.-Iran tensions and the potential cyber fallout for healthcare and public health. We are continuously monitoring the situation as both sides posture, and we’re specifically warning healthcare organizations to watch for hacktivist activity and to prepare for an increase in DDoS attacks if there is a major military escalation.”
Weiss said, “The risk here isn’t abstract. If a large-scale cyber incident disrupts hospitals, emergency services, or critical clinical systems, people could die. Cyberattacks against healthcare don’t just hit data — they can delay surgeries, impact diagnostics, and slow emergency care. That’s why we’re urging members right now to harden internet-facing systems, validate DDoS protections with their service providers, and rehearse downtime and incident-response procedures so patient care can continue safely under stress.”
